AIDS Walk Buffalo
As many of you may know, I started the Buffalo Blogging Network back in the summer of 2016 as a way to connect local bloggers/vloggers with each other and to network with local businesses. My initial goal was to hold monthly meetings as a way to form friendships and talk about all things social media, blogging, and Buffalo. Thankfully, the members of the Network have been loving the monthly meet ups and keep me on my toes looking for new and exciting things to do and places to meet.
One newer goal of mine is for us to be able to use our influential voices for a good cause. That's why, I'm very excited to announce that this year the Buffalo Blogging Network is an official media sponsor of the AIDS Walk! The walk is happening on Saturday, May 5th in Delaware Park and benefits Evergreen Health. This 5k Walk heightens awareness of the impact HIV/AIDS continues to have on our community by honoring those living with the disease and memorializing those who have passed on. All money raised in support of AIDS Walk Buffalo stays right here in Western New York. The funds allow Evergreen Health to continue to provide critical help to the thousands of individuals who depend on its essential services: primary medical care, HIV and STI testing, care management, counseling, prevention education, housing and nutritional assistance, and much more.
Our friends at Evergreen Health recently threw us an incredible party at The Terrace at Delaware Park to announce our sponsorship and it was so much fun! That was the first time that I've been inside The Terrace and it was absolutely beautiful. They actually opened specially for our group since their actual opening date for the season isn't until April 26th, so we felt like total VIP's! We also had an extra fun bonus during our event. Award-winning hula hooper Benjamin Berry was onsite at The Terrace and taught us how to hoop and surprised us with an incredible performance!
